Far East Cable 3rd "Robust Six Sigma" Management Project Achievements Are Announced Successfully

 The 3rd "Robust Six Sigma" Management Project Achievement Announcement Meeting was held successfully by Far East Cable at Wisdom Hall of Far East University on June 22. Director of the Board and CEO of Far East Smarter Energy Co., Ltd. (abbreviation: Smarter Energy; stock code: 600869) Jiang Huajun, investor and Senior Deputy General Manager and Chief Technology Officer of Cable Industry Wang Chuanbin, and other leaders attended and spoke in the meeting. Senior Director of Quality Management Department Li Lin chaired the meeting, which was also participated by Six Sigma Promotion Committee members, the working group members, head of all plants, technicians and all Six Sigma team members.

 The meeting reviewed the project by adhering to the principle of "fairness, openness and justice", which proceeded in a form of combining internal and external evaluation. It invited Han Zhijun, a famous quality management expert and professor from Nanjing University of Science and Technology, and Cheng Longsheng, a Ph.D. candidate instructor at Nanjing University of Science and Technology, to serve as the external judges of the meeting, while the member of Six Sigma Promotion Committee served as the internal judges.

 At the meeting, all groups demonstrated and explained their achievements vividly and visually to the judges and representatives. An on-site defense was conducted after the announcement of each QC research topic. The judges reviewed and graded each QC achievement carefully in terms of topic selection, reasons, countermeasures, implementation, effects, announcement and features, and eventually decided all awards.

 The meeting announced a total of four management projects’ achievements. After an on-site review and scoring, the research topic of "Improving the Qualified Rate of Aluminum Filament with High Conductivity" was finally awarded the first prize, "Development of One-Step Production Process for Overhead Insulated Cables" was awarded the second prize, and "Optimizing Wind Power 240 Conductor Technique" and "Improving Irradiation Uniformity of Single Core Irradiation Locomotive Cable with a Large Section " were awarded the third prize. The expert group members and the Company’s leaders awarded certificate to the representatives on behalf of the winners.

 Professor Han Zhijun made a summary for the review, who affirmed the achievements made inFar East’s Six Sigma management activity, and encouraged everyone to take part in the announcement of the national Six Sigma outstanding results. Professor Han also pointed out the shortcomings. Wang Chuanbin places high expectations on continuously organizing the Six Sigma activities, and requires the project team to strengthen the depth and breadth of the activities, and to raise the initiatives of the group members. He also said the research topic selection should be rigorous, and the improvement way needs to be diversified.

 Jiang Huajun affirmed the great achievements made by Far East Cable in carrying out the robust Six Sigma projects. He noted that the thinking, methods and tools in lean management in the activity have been in more and more application. The number and quality of the achievements continue to improve, and many of them have been applied to production and operation that make contributions to improving the Company's productivity. He said that carrying out management around quality, cost and effectiveness is a main task of work, and hopes the project team to further develop extensively, and build a platform capable of achieving continuous improvement and innovation, to promote the work of lean management three-dimensionally.
